How To Use The Law of Attraction To Get What You Want

I have been using the law of attraction in my life for the past 18 years. It has allowed me to create some wonderful things in my life. I have attracted cars, money, jobs, excellent health, and most importantly the love of my life, my wife Helena.

The law of attraction can be applied to any subject that is important to you in your life. In this article, I want to talk about how to use the law of attraction to get what you want

What Is The Law Of Attraction?

Before we dive in on how to use the law of attraction to get what you want in life, we need to discuss what exactly the law of attraction is. 

The law of attraction is a way of thinking that is described as whatever happens in your life is so because of the thoughts you are thinking.

So if you’re thinking or feeling a certain way, the law of attraction will bring circumstances, places, events, and people into your life that match how you’re feeling. 

The most common objection I get when teaching the law of attraction is that people don’t believe they are deliberately creating negative circumstances and people in their life. However, I do believe they absolutely are attracting it even if they don’t realize it.

The Law Of Attraction By Default 

The law of attraction is always responding to how you feel and the thoughts that you are thinking. To really utilize the law of attraction in a positive way, you have to start thinking positively and feeling good thoughts deliberately.

When people complain that the law of attraction doesn’t work for them, or that they don’t believe they would attract a bad relationship, lack of money, or some type of health condition, I then ask them how they are feeling.

  • “Are you worried about money?”
  • “Are you pissed off at your government?”
  • “Are you mad at your husband or wife?”
  • “Are you yelling at your kids constantly?”
  • “Do you go to an unsatisfying job every day?”
  • “Are you unhappy with your body?”

These are all indications of your overall emotional state. If you’re feeling bad overall, you will attract unwanted things on every subject in your life. 

Tuning Your Frequency

When talking about the law of attraction, we need to talk about science and quantum physics. Scientists are beginning to discover what spiritual teachers have known for thousands of years. We, as humans, are vibrational beings that are made of energy.

“Everything in life is vibration” – Albert Einstein

Our heart rate has a vibration. Our brain waves have a vibration. Our sense of hearing has a vibration, and even on a cellular level, we are vibration.

I like to think of a certain analogy when talking about the vibration and how it relates to our emotions. Because we are made up of vibration and frequencies, you could think of the law of attraction as a streaming service like Spotify. It has millions of “stations and songs” it is putting out, and you’re the receiver of that content.

So if you’re in a bad mood, you’re going to “stream” only things that match that mood. Ever bump your toe in the morning and the rest of your day has gone to shit? That’s why…

Low vibrations are negative emotions and high vibrations are positive emotions. Taken from the teachings of Abraham, the emotional guidance scale has served me extremely well in my life.

It gives you a pretty clear indication of where you are vibrational / emotional, with the goal of moving up to scale to #1-7 for optimal life results. Anything below that would be considered negative emotion.

 Where are you mostly on the emotional scale?

  1. Joy/appreciation/empowerment/freedom/love
  2. Passion
  3. Enthusiasm/eagerness/happiness
  4. Positive expectation/belief
  5. Optimism
  6. Hopefulness
  7. Contentment
  8. Boredom
  9. Pessimism
  10. Frustration/irritation/impatience
  11. Overwhelmed
  12. Disappointment
  13. Doubt
  14. Worry
  15. Blame
  16. Discouragement
  17. Anger
  18. Revenge
  19. Hatred/rage
  20. Jealousy
  21. Insecurity/guilt/unworthiness
  22. Fear/grief/desperation/despair/powerlessness

Remember that each emotion is like a streaming station, so what type of things do you want to attract in your life? If you’re feeling sad, depressed, or anxious, the universe will say “okay, you are feeling this way? Here’s some more!”

But if you’re feeling happy, satisfied, or any good feeling thoughts, the universe says the exact same thing. “Okay, you are feeling this way? Here’s some more!”

So if you don’t like what’s playing on your station, it’s time to change the channel…

Practical Use Of The Law Of Attraction

So if we can agree that emotions dictate what happens in our life, how can we deliberately use the law of attraction to move up the emotional scale and feel better? Here are a few techniques that help me improve my emotional state of being.

Meditation 

Meditation is a powerful technique that I have been using for 20 years. But I didn’t really start understanding it until I applied the principles of the law of attraction.

The goal in meditation is to quiet your mind. And when your mind is quiet, your vibration and emotions will rise to a more positive level.

A simple way to quiet your mind is to focus on something that has no resistance. When I meditate, I focus on an air conditioner, a fan, or something in the room that has a consistent sound. If you don’t have these things, you can use your phone to find air conditioner white noise on YouTube.

Sit in a quiet place every day for 15 to 20 minutes and focus on stopping thought. This will be challenging at first but it does get easier when you practice.

Your mind will want to wander but when it does, focus again on the air conditioner sound. If you can truly do this, you’ll start to feel better immediately.

Scripting 

Scripting is another powerful technique I use to help improve my emotional state and start to get what I want.

Write on a piece of paper or on your computer/phone word processor or notepad. At the top of the page, write/type ”My New Wonderful Life”

Begin writing a story exactly how you want your life to be. When doing this, also describe how you want to feel when you get there.

It may feel weird at first because it feels like you’re being dishonest, but the universe responds to how you feel, not the truth.

If you’re feeling bad about saying something not truthful just remember that it is your future truth you’re describing, not your current truth.

Here’s an example of a story you could tell how to grow a blog:

“Things are going really well in my life. I have created an amazing blog that I enjoy managing and building every single day. I get to research and write about topics that I’m very passionate about. And the best part about this is that I get paid to do it! I get to help people in so many ways and that is quite satisfying. Because of this, it doesn’t feel like work anymore. It just feels like fun. Watching the blog grow is everything I’ve asked for. I love seeing the statistics go up every month, more money coming in, and people interacting with me to let me know what a great job I’m doing”

The more you write these types of stories down and really feel how it feels in your imagination, the faster the universe will respond to those feelings and bring you exact matches to those feelings of positive emotion. 

The key is to do it consistently to build positive momentum. Otherwise, you won’t gain much traction.

Proof That The Law Of Attraction Works

One of the challenges with law of attraction and teaching someone this new and leading edge way of thinking is that most people want some type of proof that it works.

Here are a few examples of how I have deliberately used the law of attraction to attract what I want in my life:

  • My relationship with my wife
  • Several sports cars
  • Amazing jobs and money
  • Building Muscle as a skinny guy
  • Growing my net worth

Also, don’t just take my word for it. There are many others of have deliberately used the law of attraction to get what they want out of life.

Total believer. I believe in manifestation. I believe in putting a rocket of desire out in the universe. You get it when you believe you have it. People still sit around and go “When it’s gonna come, when it’s gonna come” And that’s the wrong way. You’re facing away from it. You have to go, “It’s here, it’s here, it’s here”. – Jim Carrey

“When I was very young I visualized myself being and having what it was I wanted. Mentally I never had any doubts about it. The mind is really so incredible. Before I won my first Mr. Universe title, I walked around the tournament like I owned it. The title was already mine. I had won it so many times in my mind that there was no doubt I would win it. Then when I moved on to the movies, the same thing. I visualized myself being a famous actor and earning big money. I could feel and taste success. I just knew it would all happen.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

Some people would say that these things were attracted through luck and consistent action. But I know for sure that it was because I was focused on what I wanted and I allowed it until my experience.

The only way you can truly see that these principles work is through life experience.

Positive Emotion Before Action

If you read other finance or entrepreneurial websites or videos, they almost always recommend that you jump into “ massive action” to become successful. 

And while I do think action is important, I don’t recommend it until you’re feeling consistent positive emotion.

If you’re trying to overcome something like lack of money or, getting away from a job that you hate, just remember that you take yourself with you.

The struggle that you’re feeling will translate over into your blog. And I can say this from firsthand experience.

It wasn’t until I was feeling good consistently that I started to see success with our websites.

Look what happened when we combined positive emotion first, then took action. We were able to grow our main traffic source, Pinterest, to over 218,000 monthly viewers.

So work on yourself first to feel as good as you can and when you’re feeling inspired, take action.

Look Around Less, Imagine More

To be truly successful or attract anything important in your life, you have to start telling a different story.

Most people are reacting negatively to their life instead of creating positive emotion on purpose. You can’t always change what happens in the world, but you can always change your reaction to it.

That is the key to success using the law of attraction. Imagine your life in your mind exactly as you want it to be, and you will be inspired to take action.

When you’re ready to take action 

Now that you’re feeling good consistently, it’s time to take action. Here are a few examples of things you could do to start moving in the right direction

  • Create a website/blog
  • Start Exercising (always consult a physician before starting a new program)
  • Look for a new job

Each person’s journey is going to be different. The important questions to ask yourself are

What do I want? and Why do I want this?

What you’ll find is that everything that a person wants, no matter what it is, is because that if they had what they wanted, they would feel better. So the essence of what you want is to feel better. So if you can feel better before you get what you want, the universe will give you what you want.

It may seem backwards at first (and even a bit messed up) but if you can really understand this principal, it will give you exactly what you want.
